Velaris was founded in 2008 by the Marchand family, who shared a singular vision: to create a hotel that felt less like a commercial enterprise and more like the private residence of a very discerning host. They chose Monaco for its unique character - a place where the Mediterranean light, the sea air, and a sense of civilised calm converge.

The founding principle was simple: anticipation. To know what a guest needs before they ask, and to deliver it so naturally that the effort is invisible. This philosophy permeates every aspect of Velaris - from the way a room is turned down at dusk to the way the morning coffee arrives at precisely the moment you want it.

Over sixteen years, Velaris has grown from a 24-room boutique into a beloved institution, collecting a Michelin star in the restaurant and recognition from the world's leading travel publications. Yet we remain resolutely intimate, resolutely attentive, and resolutely committed to the unhurried art of true hospitality.
